In 2011 me and my roomie at that time went to the cinema, with some time to pass before and an empty stomach. On our way we passed this little indian restaurant and went in. We asked about vegan food and were surprised with a big smile and a big yes. Back in 2011 it was still a dark time for vegans in Munich by the way. We sat down and remembered that we didn’t have much money left and asked if it’s possible to pay with card. He declined but told us that we should just come back another time and pay the money back, he always handles it like that and people never not returned to give back the money.
We were stunned and happy and just simply loved that! In the end we had enough money to pay our bill (since it’s not very expensive, too). But nevertheless we returned. I’ve been a regular guest ever since and love to recommend the place. The food is delicious, authentic and absolutely affordable.
The best part is, though, that they since then changed their menu and now many many dishes are clearly marked vegan and many can be veganized. They even have an especially vegan menu on their website. We always order the same by the way, which is onion bhaji, vegetable pakoras and the delicious dal.
It’s probably not the prettiest restaurant, but it’s very authentic and has a great vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly, too. They gained a lot of attention lately and I’d definitely recommend you to make reservations.
